Atogla Lotion – Baby Moisturizing Lotion with Ceramides and Oat Lipids, 200 ml

Atogla Lotion from the Tedibar Family – Torrent’s Curatio range – is a 200 ml baby moisturising lotion built around Ceramide 3 and oat kernel oil. The reason ceramides appear on a baby lotion is worth understanding. The outer layer of skin works like a brick wall: the cells are the bricks and a lipid mortar holds them together, and that mortar is roughly half ceramides, a quarter cholesterol and a fifth free fatty acids. In infant skin, and in eczema-prone skin at any age, ceramide levels are lower than normal – so the mortar leaks, water escapes and irritants get in. A plain lotion coats the surface; a ceramide lotion supplies the missing mortar component itself. This one also carries cholesterol (the second mortar lipid), borage seed oil for gamma-linolenic acid, panthenol, glycyrrhetinic acid, bisabolol, chamomile and aloe. Hypoallergenic, paraben-free and dermatologically tested.

Key Features

  • Ceramide 3 and Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil – barrier lipids, not just a surface coat
  • With cholesterol and borage seed oil, the other skin-barrier lipids
  • Glycyrrhetinic acid, bisabolol, chamomile and aloe to calm irritation
  • Hypoallergenic, paraben-free, dermatologically tested
  • 200 ml bottle. From Tedibar Family, marketed by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Composition

  • Key actives: Ceramide 3, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil, Cholesterol, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Panthenol, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Bisabolol, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Tocopheryl Acetate
  • Base: Aqua, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Olivate, Microcrystalline Wax, Phenoxyethanol, Perfume and permitted excipients. Refer to the pack for the full list

Uses & Benefits

  • Moisturises delicate baby skin and helps hold water in
  • Ceramides and oat lipids support the skin barrier rather than only coating it
  • Helps with the dryness, roughness and flaking of eczema-prone skin
  • Chamomile, bisabolol and glycyrrhetinic acid soothe redness and irritation
  • Hypoallergenic and paraben-free, and can be used as often as needed
  • A generous 200 ml bottle for daily whole-body use after a bath

Directions for Use

  • Take a sufficient quantity and apply liberally, as often as needed or as your doctor recommends, as printed on the pack
  • For best results apply immediately after bathing, while the skin is still slightly damp – that is when a moisturiser traps the most water
  • Massage gently until absorbed. Pay attention to the driest areas
  • Patch test a small area first if your baby has very reactive skin
  • For external use only

Precautions

  • For external use only. Avoid the eyes, and do not apply to broken, weeping or infected skin without asking a doctor
  • It contains perfume – if your baby’s skin is highly reactive, or eczema is active, ask your paediatrician whether a fragrance-free option would suit better
  • Stop use and consult a doctor if redness, itching or a rash appears or worsens after applying
  • Worsening or widespread eczema needs a doctor, not just a moisturiser – a moisturiser is supportive care alongside whatever is prescribed
  • Not for use on a child with a known allergy to any listed ingredient
  • Use clean hands, and close the cap after each use

Storage

  • Store in a cool and dry place. Do not freeze, as printed on the pack
  • Keep the bottle closed
  • Keep out of reach of children
