The Derma Co 1% Kojic Acid Daily Face Wash – 100 ml for Dark Spots and Pigmentation
The Derma Co 1% Kojic Acid Daily Face Wash is a 100 ml cleanser combining 1% kojic acid, 1% niacinamide and alpha arbutin, aimed at dark spots and pigmentation. A fair question about any brightening face wash is whether an active can do anything in the thirty seconds it spends on the skin, and the honest answer is that a wash is a supporting player rather than the main treatment – the serum or cream you leave on does the heavy lifting. What a wash like this does contribute is a low-irritation way to add the actives to a routine daily, and the three chosen here work at different points of the same pathway: kojic acid and alpha arbutin both inhibit tyrosinase, the enzyme that starts melanin production, while niacinamide works further downstream, reducing the transfer of finished melanin from the pigment cells to the skin cells. Fragrance-free and dermatologically tested.

Uses & Benefits
- Helps fade dark spots, patches and post-acne marks with regular use
- Three actives working at different points of the melanin pathway
- Niacinamide also supports the skin barrier and helps with oiliness
- Fragrance-free, so less likely to irritate sensitive or reactive skin
- Fits into a routine as the cleansing step before a leave-on treatment
- Suitable for daily use on the face
Directions for Use
- Wet the face with lukewarm water
- Take a small amount, work into a lather and massage over the face for 30 to 60 seconds, avoiding the eyes
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry
- Use once or twice a day. Follow with a moisturiser, and with your leave-on treatment if you use one
- Sunscreen every morning is not optional with any brightening routine – UV drives the pigmentation you are treating
Precautions
- For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes – rinse well with water if it gets in
- Patch test before first use, particularly if your skin is sensitive or you already use acids or retinoids
- Kojic acid can cause contact dermatitis in a minority of users. Stop if you get persistent redness, stinging or itching
- Pigmentation results take 8 to 12 weeks and are undone quickly by sun exposure. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is part of the treatment
- Do not combine with several strong actives at once without building up gradually. Avoid on broken or freshly treated skin
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or treating melasma, take dermatological advice on which actives to use
Storage
- Store below 30°C in a dry, dark place away from sunlight. Do not freeze, as printed on the pack
- Close the cap tightly after use
- Keep out of reach of children
