Tigotreat 1% Cream is a topical antibiotic made by Intas Pharmaceuticals. Its active ingredient is Ozenoxacin 1% w/w, a newer quinolone antibiotic. It works by blocking the enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA. This quickly stops the bacteria from growing and spreading. It is mainly used to treat impetigo, a contagious crusty skin infection. It is effective against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, including some resistant strains. Only a tiny amount enters the bloodstream, which keeps the effect local. Treatment is usually short, around 5 days. It is available in 10 gm and 5 gm tubes.
