O2 Bact 1% Cream

O2 Bact 1% Cream is a topical antibiotic from Medley Pharmaceuticals. It contains Ozenoxacin 1% w/w, a newer antibiotic from the quinolone class. Ozenoxacin stops bacteria from copying their DNA, which halts their growth. It is mainly used for impetigo, a common crusty skin infection in children and adults. It acts against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, the usual causes of impetigo. Very little of the drug is absorbed into the body when used on the skin. The course is usually short, often around 5 days. The cream is applied only to the infected patches. Each tube holds 5 gm of cream.
