S Clear 1% Cream

S Clear 1% Cream is a topical antibiotic from Alkem Laboratories. It contains Ozenoxacin 1% w/w, part of the quinolone family of antibiotics. Ozenoxacin targets the enzymes that bacteria use to copy their genes. Without them the bacteria cannot multiply and the infection settles. It is mostly used for impetigo, which shows up as red sores and honey coloured crusts. It covers the common causes Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Very little of it is absorbed through the skin, so the action stays local. A short course of a few days is usually enough. It comes in 10 gm and 5 gm tubes.
