Rocaltrol Capsule, by Abbott, contains Calcitriol I.P. 0.25mcg, an active form of Vitamin D used in the management of metabolic bone disease and disorders of calcium metabolism. It helps regulate calcium and phosphate levels in patients with conditions such as hypoparathyroidism, renal osteodystrophy and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Each pack contains 10 soft gelatin capsules and is available only against a valid prescription.

How It Works

Calcitriol is the active, hormonal form of Vitamin D3. It works by increasing the absorption of calcium and phosphate from the intestine and regulating their levels in the blood, while also supporting the body’s normal process of bone remodelling. This helps correct low blood calcium levels and supports bone mineralization in people whose bodies cannot adequately convert Vitamin D on their own, such as those with kidney disease or parathyroid disorders.

How to Use

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food
• Swallow the capsule whole; do not chew or crush it
• Taking the dose at bedtime may be advised by your doctor for better absorption
• Do not stop or change the dose without consulting your doctor
