Paracip 500 Tablet is a pain and fever medicine marketed by Cipla Ltd under Cipla Health. Each uncoated tablet contains paracetamol IP 500mg. It is used to bring down fever and to ease mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, body ache, back pain and period pain. It is also commonly taken for the aches and fever that come with colds and flu. Paracetamol works in the brain by reducing the chemical messengers that signal pain and raise body temperature. It starts working within about 30 to 60 minutes, and the effect lasts for several hours. Unlike many painkillers, it is gentle on the stomach when taken at the right dose. It can be taken with or without food. Adults should not take more than 4000mg in 24 hours, and doses should be spaced at least 4 to 6 hours apart. Taking more than the advised dose, or using it with other paracetamol products, can harm the liver.
