Olox-OZ Tablet is a prescription combination medicine from Cipla. Each tablet contains ofloxacin 200 mg and ornidazole 500 mg. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic for bacterial infections. Ornidazole acts against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa such as amoeba and giardia. The combination is prescribed for mixed infections such as infectious diarrhoea and dysentery. It may also be used in some pelvic and dental infections. Your doctor decides the dose and the length of the course. Finish the full course even if the symptoms settle. Avoid alcohol during treatment, and tell your doctor about tendon, kidney or nerve problems. Use only on a doctor’s prescription and keep out of the reach of children.
