Ocuvir Skin Cream from FDC is Aciclovir Cream IP 5% w/w, a topical antiviral for cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes. Applied directly to the affected skin, it prevents the herpes simplex virus from multiplying at the site of the outbreak, shortening healing time and easing the pain, itching and burning of an active flare-up. As a topical formulation it treats the visible lesion directly, making it a straightforward option for localised herpes outbreaks that don’t require oral or injectable treatment. Comes as a 10 gm tube.

Directions for Use

• Consult your doctor if symptoms haven’t improved after 10 days

Precautions

• Schedule H prescription drug – not to be sold without a registered medical practitioner’s prescription
• Avoid contact with the eyes, inside the mouth, or mucous membranes; rinse with plenty of water if accidental exposure occurs
• May cause mild, usually temporary burning, irritation, itching or redness at the application site
• Avoid sexual contact while genital sores are present, to reduce the chance of transmission
• Use with caution if you have a weakened immune system or kidney problems
• Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding

• Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C; do not freeze
• Keep out of reach of children
