Heteronox 1% Cream is a topical antibiotic from Genx Pharma. It contains Ozenoxacin 1% w/w, a modern quinolone antibiotic. It works by blocking the enzymes bacteria use to copy their genetic material. As a result the bacteria stop growing and the infection begins to clear. It is mainly used for impetigo, a common contagious skin infection. It covers Staphylococcus and Streptococcus bacteria that usually cause it. The cream acts locally and very little is absorbed into the body. Treatment courses are short, usually a few days. Each tube holds 10 gm of cream.
