Kintsugi 440mg Injection
Kintsugi 440mg Injection is a prescription anticancer medicine from Mankind Pharma. Each vial contains 440mg of Trastuzumab as a powder that is mixed before it is given. It is used to treat breast cancer and stomach cancer in which the tumour cells carry too much of a protein called HER2. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody, which is a lab made protein that targets one specific site. It attaches to the HER2 receptor on cancer cells and blocks the growth signals sent through it. It also marks these cells so that the body’s immune system can find and destroy them. The medicine may be given alone or together with chemotherapy, depending on the treatment plan. It is given as a slow infusion into a vein, usually once every week or once every three weeks. Treatment must only take place in a hospital or clinic under a cancer specialist. Heart function is checked before and during therapy because the medicine can affect the heart.
