HyaloRx Eye Drops from IRx Pharmaceuticals is a sterile 10 mL lubricant containing Sodium Hyaluronate 0.1% w/v. Hyaluronate is worth understanding because it is not a substitute for tears so much as a water-holding scaffold: a single molecule binds many times its own weight in water and forms a viscoelastic film that spreads with each blink instead of being washed away. Directions for Use

• Turn the tamper-proof cap anti-clockwise to break the seal before first use, as the pack directs
• Wash your hands. Remove the cap, tilt your head back and dispense a drop with gentle pressure
• Replace the cap immediately after every use
• Do not touch the nozzle tip to any surface – that contaminates the solution
• Use the solution within one month after opening the container

Precautions

• Stop and see your ophthalmologist if irritation persists or worsens – that is the pack’s own instruction, and worsening irritation is not something to push through
• Discard the solution if it turns cloudy or discoloured
• Brief blurring for a minute after instilling is normal – wait until vision clears before driving
• Persistent dry eye deserves a diagnosis. It can be caused by blocked oil glands, thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions or a medicine you take – lubricants relieve the symptom, not the cause
• See a doctor promptly for eye pain, redness with light sensitivity, discharge, or any change in vision – these need assessment, not a lubricant
• For external ophthalmic use only. Never inject, and keep out of reach of children
