Hylosoft Eye Drop – Sodium Hyaluronate 0.1% by Neomedix

Hylosoft from Neomedix Healthcare is a 10 ml lubricant eye drop containing Sodium Hyaluronate BP 0.1% w/v, preserved with Stabilized Oxychloro Complex 0.05 mg per ml. Beyond the hyaluronate, the interesting part of this formula is the electrolytes: calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium salts are included alongside carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin and erythritol. That is deliberate. Natural tears are not plain water but a balanced salt solution, and a dry eye surface is under osmotic stress – as tears evaporate, the salt concentration climbs and irritates the cells. A drop that matches the ionic composition of tears relieves that stress rather than simply diluting it, which is the reasoning behind electrolyte-balanced lubricants. Bottle of 10 ml.

Key Features

  • Sodium Hyaluronate BP 0.1% w/v lubricant eye drop
  • Electrolyte-balanced with calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium salts, like natural tears
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex preservative – gentler than benzalkonium chloride
  • Carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin and erythritol for added lubrication and osmoprotection
  • Bottle of 10 ml from Neomedix Healthcare India Pvt Ltd.

Composition

  • Sodium Hyaluronate BP – 0.1% w/v
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (as preservative) – 0.05 mg
  • Purified Water IP – q.s.
  • Excipients: carboxymethylcellulose sodium, erythritol, boric acid, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, borax, glycerin and sodium citrate. Per ml, as printed on the pack

Uses & Benefits

  • Relieves the grittiness, burning and tired feeling of dry eye
  • Holds water on the eye surface, so relief lasts longer than with plain saline drops
  • Helps eyes that dry out from screen work, air conditioning or contact lenses
  • Supports healing of a dry, damaged corneal surface
  • Soothes irritation after eye surgery, as directed by your ophthalmologist
  • Can be used several times a day as needed

Directions for Use

  • Wash your hands first. Tilt your head back, pull the lower lid down and place one drop in the pocket
  • Close the eye gently for a few seconds afterwards rather than blinking hard
  • Do not let the nozzle tip touch your eye, eyelid or any surface – that contaminates the whole bottle
  • Discard the bottle one month after opening, as the pack directs, even if drops remain
  • If you use other eye drops, leave at least five minutes between them. Remove contact lenses before use unless your doctor says otherwise

Precautions

  • Stop and see your ophthalmologist if irritation persists or worsens – that is the pack’s own instruction, and worsening irritation is not something to push through
  • Discard the solution if it turns cloudy or discoloured
  • Brief blurring for a minute after instilling is normal – wait until vision clears before driving
  • Persistent dry eye deserves a diagnosis. It can be caused by blocked oil glands, thyroid disease, autoimmune conditions or a medicine you take – lubricants relieve the symptom, not the cause
  • See a doctor promptly for eye pain, redness with light sensitivity, discharge, or any change in vision – these need assessment, not a lubricant
  • For external ophthalmic use only. Never inject, and keep out of reach of children

Storage

  • Store in a cool and dry place. Protect from light, as printed on the pack
  • Keep the bottle tightly capped
  • Use within one month of opening. For external use only, not for injection. Keep out of reach of children
