Carvidon-MR Tablet is a prescription anti-anginal medicine from Micro Labs Limited used to treat angina pectoris, the chest pain or tightness that occurs when reduced blood flow leaves the heart muscle short of oxygen. Each film-coated modified-release tablet contains Trimetazidine Hydrochloride IP 35 mg. Rather than changing heart rate or blood pressure, it helps heart cells produce energy more efficiently, reducing the number and severity of angina attacks and making daily activities more comfortable. It is usually added to other heart medicines as part of long-term angina management. Each strip contains 15 tablets.

How It Works

Trimetazidine is a metabolic anti-anginal agent. It shifts the heart muscle’s energy source from fatty acids towards glucose, a process that needs less oxygen to produce the same amount of energy. This protects heart cells when their oxygen supply is limited, helps keep their energy levels stable and reduces the damage caused by poor blood flow. How to Use

• Take the tablet exactly as prescribed, usually one tablet twice daily.
• Take it with or after meals to reduce stomach discomfort.
• Swallow it whole with water; do not chew, cut or crush it.
• Do not skip doses or stop without medical advice, as angina symptoms may return.

• This is a Schedule H prescription medicine; use only under medical supervision.
• It is not meant to relieve a sudden angina attack; use the fast-acting medicine your doctor has prescribed for that.
• Do not use if you have Parkinson’s disease, tremors, restless legs or other movement disorders, or severe kidney problems.
• Common side effects include dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, indigestion and rash. Avoid driving if you feel dizzy or unsteady.
• Tell your doctor about other medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store in a dry, dark place below 30°C, out of reach of children.
