How It Works

Insulin Glargine is a modified human insulin that forms tiny deposits under the skin after injection. These deposits dissolve slowly, releasing insulin into the bloodstream at a steady rate over the whole day. This basal insulin helps muscle and fat cells take up glucose and stops the liver from releasing excess sugar between meals and overnight, closely mimicking the constant background insulin the pancreas normally produces.

How to Use

Safety Advice

• Do not stop using it suddenly, as blood sugar can rise dangerously high.
• Injection-site reactions, weight gain and swelling may occur; tell your doctor about all other medicines you take.
• Store unopened cartridges at 2–8°C, protected from light; do not freeze or shake. An in-use cartridge can be kept below 25°C for up to 28 days, out of reach of children.
