Panacur Vet Powder – Fenbendazole 25% w/w Broad-Spectrum Dewormer for Livestock

Panacur Vet is MSD Animal Health’s fenbendazole 25% w/w powder, supplied as a 120 g jar and used to prepare an aqueous suspension for oral dosing. Each gram delivers 250 mg of Fenbendazole IP. It is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic that acts on both immature and mature stages of gastrointestinal roundworms and lungworms – an important distinction, because many dewormers only clear adult worms and leave larval stages behind to re-establish the burden. As printed on the pack, it is indicated for cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, horses and pigs, and additionally against tapeworms in sheep and goats.

Key Features

  • Fenbendazole 25% w/w – 250 mg per gram of powder.
  • Kills immature and mature stages of gastrointestinal nematodes, not just adult worms.
  • Also effective against lungworms, and against tapeworms in sheep and goats.
  • 120 g jar – mixed with water to make an aqueous suspension for oral administration.
  • From MSD Animal Health (marketed by Intervet India Pvt. Ltd.).

Composition

  • Fenbendazole IP – 250 mg per gram (25% w/w)
  • Excipients – q.s.

Refer to the pack label and product insert for the complete formulation.

Uses & Benefits

  • Treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworm (nematode) infections.
  • Effective against lungworm infestations.
  • Active against tapeworms in sheep and goats.
  • Clears immature larval stages, reducing rapid re-infestation.
  • Supports planned, routine deworming programmes in herds and flocks.
  • Helps protect weight gain, milk yield and general condition lost to worm burden.

Directions for Use

  • Give only on the advice of a registered veterinary practitioner – dose is calculated by species and body weight.
  • Mix the measured powder with water to form an aqueous suspension and administer orally.
  • Weigh the animal, or estimate carefully – under-dosing encourages resistance.
  • Complete the full course advised by your vet; stopping early can leave surviving parasites.
  • Observe the withdrawal periods for meat and milk in food-producing animals, as directed by your vet.

Precautions

  • Not for human use – for animal treatment only, as stated on the pack.
  • Prescription required. Not to be sold by retail without the prescription of a registered veterinary practitioner.
  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to fenbendazole or other benzimidazoles.
