Valgan 450mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis – a CMV infection of the retina – in adults with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is also used to prevent CMV infection in patients who have received an organ transplant from a CMV-infected donor.

Precautions
- This medicine can cause a significant drop in blood cell counts – regular blood monitoring is required
- Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, as dose adjustment may be needed
- May cause nausea, diarrhoea, fever, or headache in some patients
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding – discuss contraception with your doctor
- Avoid direct handling of broken or crushed tablets
- Inform your doctor of all other medicines you are taking to avoid interactions
