Provanol Plus Tablet is a combination medicine for the prevention of migraine. Each tablet has 40 mg of propranolol and 10 mg of flunarizine. Propranolol is a beta blocker that calms the heart rate and the blood vessel changes that bring on headache. Flunarizine is a calcium channel blocker that improves blood flow in the brain and steadies nerve signals. Taken together they help lower the number of migraine attacks and make them less severe. The tablets are made by Intas Pharmaceuticals and a strip holds 10 tablets. The SR form lets the medicine release slowly, so a single daily dose is usually enough. It may cause tiredness, sleepiness or a slow heartbeat in some people. People with asthma or heart rhythm problems should tell their doctor first.
