Uses & Benefits
- Private, confidential HIV screening in the comfort of your home
- Results in minutes instead of waiting for a laboratory report
- Useful for screening after a possible exposure or unprotected contact
- Encourages early detection, which allows earlier medical care
- Simple procedure with clear control and test line indicators
- Economical multi-pack options for repeat or partner testing
Directions for Use
- Bring the sealed pouch to room temperature, then open it and use the cassette within a few minutes
- Clean the fingertip with the alcohol swab, prick with the lancet and collect blood using the dropper
- Add the specified number of drops to the sample well, then add the buffer as instructed
- Read the result within the time window stated in the leaflet – do not read it later
- Follow the leaflet exactly; a missing control line means the test is invalid and must be repeated
Precautions
- For in-vitro diagnostic use only. Single use – never reuse a cassette or lancet
- This is a screening test, not a diagnosis. Any reactive (positive) result must be confirmed by a laboratory test and a doctor
- A negative result does not rule out infection during the window period; retest as advised by your doctor
- Do not use if the pouch is damaged, opened or past the expiry date printed on the kit
- Handle all blood samples as potentially infectious and dispose of used items safely
- Keep away from children; the lancet is sharp
Storage
- Store between 2°C and 30°C in a dry place; do not freeze
- Keep in the sealed pouch until immediately before use; protect from humidity and heat
- Stable until the expiry date printed on the kit
