Montemac Plus 10mg/10mg Tablet is a prescription medicine made by Macleods Pharmaceuticals. Each tablet combines Montelukast 10mg and Bambuterol 10mg and the strip holds 10 tablets. It is used for the long term control of asthma and to prevent wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor blocker that calms swelling and irritation inside the airways. Bambuterol is a long acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles around the air passages so that air flows more easily. Working together, the two medicines keep the airways open and lower the number of asthma flare ups. The tablet is usually taken once a day at bedtime so that it works through the night and early morning. It is meant for regular preventive use and does not give quick relief during a sudden attack. Keep taking it daily even when you feel well unless your doctor tells you to stop. Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes or mood changes while on this medicine.
