Monotrate SR 30 Tablet is a prescription heart medicine from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries used to prevent angina, the chest pain or pressure caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle, usually due to narrowed coronary arteries. Each prolonged-release film-coated tablet contains diluted Isosorbide Mononitrate IP equivalent to 30 mg of Isosorbide Mononitrate. How It Works

Isosorbide Mononitrate belongs to the nitrate class of medicines. In the body it releases nitric oxide, which relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessel walls. Widening of the veins reduces the amount of blood returning to the heart, while widening of the arteries lowers the pressure the heart must pump against. This eases the heart’s workload and oxygen demand and improves blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle, helping to prevent angina.
