Lobun Capsule
Lobun Capsule from J.B. Chemicals is a probiotic supplement built around the gut–kidney axis. Each hard gelatin capsule delivers not less than 15 billion cells of a four-strain blend. The idea behind it is enteric dialysis: when kidney function falls, nitrogenous waste such as urea and creatinine builds up in the blood and some of it diffuses into the bowel. These bacteria consume that waste as a nutrient source, so more of it leaves in the stool instead of circulating. Lobun supports – but never replaces – prescribed renal care. Strip of 10 capsules.
Key Features
- Not less than 15 billion CFU per capsule from four complementary strains.
- Includes Bacillus coagulans, a spore-forming strain that survives stomach acid well.
- Heat-stable formulation – no refrigeration needed.
- Overages added at manufacture to offset the natural loss of live cells in storage.
- From J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals; strip of 10 hard gelatin capsules.

Uses & Benefits
- Acts as an enteric dialyser, helping the bowel clear nitrogenous waste.
- Supports the reduction of blood urea, creatinine and uric acid.
- Helps maintain a healthy balance of intestinal microbiota.
- Supportive nutritional care alongside treatment for reduced kidney function.
- Helps ease the bloating and irregularity that often accompany uraemia.
- Useful where antibiotics or illness have disturbed the gut flora.
Directions for Use
- 3 capsules daily, or as directed by your physician – this is the dose printed on the pack.
- Swallow each capsule whole with water; do not crush, chew or open it.
- Taking them with or just after meals is usually better tolerated.
- Leave about 2 hours between Lobun and any antibiotic, which would otherwise kill the live cultures.
Precautions
- Not a substitute for prescribed medicines, renal diet, dialysis or specialist kidney care. Use only under a nephrologist’s supervision if you have kidney impairment.
- Continue your prescribed treatment and laboratory monitoring unchanged.
- Seek medical advice first if you are immunocompromised or have a central venous catheter – live probiotics carry a small infection risk in these groups.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient on the pack, or if the blister is damaged.
- Mild bloating or gas can occur in the first few days and usually settles; stop and consult a doctor if it persists.
- Consult a doctor before giving to children or if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Storage
- Store in a cool place, protected from moisture. Refrigeration is not required.
- Keep capsules in the original blister until use, away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
