Galmite 5% Lotion (Permethrin 5% w/v) – 60 ml

Galmite 5% Lotion is a topical anti-scabies and anti-parasitic preparation from Galcare Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd, manufactured by Salud Care (I) Pvt. Ltd. at a WHO-GMP certified facility. Each 60 ml bottle carries Permethrin 5% w/v in a light, water-washable lotion base – roughly one complete head-to-toe application for an adult. Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that paralyses and kills the Sarcoptes scabiei mite along with its eggs, and it is equally effective against head lice, clearing the infestation and easing the intense night-time itching that comes with scabies.

Directions for Use

• Scabies: after a bath, apply Galmite Lotion from the neck downwards to the toes, paying special attention to hairy areas, skin folds, between the fingers and toes and under the nails.
• Allow the lotion to remain on the skin for 10–12 minutes, or as long as your physician directs, then wash off thoroughly.
• Repeat the procedure after one week if a second application is recommended by your doctor.
• Head lice: wash the hair with soap, dilute one part of Galmite Lotion with four parts of water, apply thoroughly to the scalp, leave for 15–20 minutes and rinse off. Repeat weekly for two weeks.
• Shake the bottle well before every use and apply only to clean, intact skin.

Precautions

• For external use only. Keep away from the eyes, nose, mouth and inner genital area; if contact occurs, rinse with plenty of cool water.
• Mild burning, stinging, tingling, redness or a temporary increase in itching may occur where the lotion is applied and usually settles on its own.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding before using a permethrin preparation.
• Avoid applying to broken, weeping or badly inflamed skin and over open wounds unless your doctor confirms it is safe.
• Itching can persist for 2–4 weeks after the mites are killed – this is a normal allergic response and does not always mean the treatment has failed.
• Wash bed linen, towels and clothing in hot water on the day of treatment and treat all household contacts at the same time to prevent reinfestation.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, protected from direct light.
• Keep the container tightly closed after each use.
• Keep the lotion out of the reach of children and pets.
