Emboxan 5 Tablet is an oral anticoagulant containing apixaban 5mg, marketed by Cadila Pharmaceuticals. It helps keep the blood from forming unwanted clots that can block vessels. Apixaban acts directly on Factor Xa, a key enzyme in the clotting cascade. Doctors often prescribe it to people with atrial fibrillation to reduce the chance of stroke. It is also used to treat and prevent clots in the deep veins of the legs and in the lungs. Patients recovering from hip or knee replacement may receive it to lower post-surgery clot risk.
