Contour TS Blood Glucose Test Strips – 50 Strips
Contour TS Blood Glucose Test Strips from Ascensia Diabetes Care are the consumable strips for the Contour TS glucometer. Two features do most of the work here: No Coding technology means the meter never has to be manually coded to a new strip batch – miscoding is one of the commonest causes of a falsely high or low home reading – and the 0.6 microlitre sample means a much smaller drop of blood, so finger pricks can be shallower and less painful. Results appear in 5 seconds. Box of 50 strips. Strips only – meter sold separately.
Key Features
- No Coding technology – no manual coding, removing a common source of error
- Tiny 0.6 µl blood sample – shallower, less painful pricks
- Results in 5 seconds
- 24-month open-pot expiry – strips stay usable long after opening
- Box of 50 strips; works exclusively with Contour TS meters
Uses & Benefits
- Home monitoring of blood glucose in diabetes
- Helps you and your doctor judge whether treatment is working
- Detects high and low readings so you can act early
- Supports safer insulin and medication adjustment
- Small sample size makes frequent daily testing more bearable
- Long open-pot life reduces waste for occasional testers
Directions for Use
- Wash and dry your hands before testing – food residue on the finger skews the reading
- Insert a test strip into the Contour TS meter to switch it on
- Prick the side of a fingertip and form a small drop of blood
- Touch the strip tip to the drop and let it draw the sample in
- Read the result after 5 seconds, then dispose of the used strip and lancet safely
Precautions
- For use with Contour TS meters only – strips are not interchangeable between glucometer brands
- Close the pot immediately after removing a strip – humidity degrades strips and causes false readings
- Do not use strips past their expiry date, or more than 24 months after first opening the pot
- Each strip is single use – never reuse
- Do not test with wet or lotioned hands; a squeezed finger can also give a misleading result
- A very high or very low reading should be confirmed by a repeat test, and acted on per your doctor’s advice
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep the pot tightly capped; do not refrigerate or freeze
- Keep out of reach of children
