Abtelmi-AMH Tablet – Triple Combination for Hard-to-Control Hypertension

Abtelmi-AMH from Abbott is a three-drug combination – Telmisartan 40 mg, Amlodipine 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg – used when hypertension has not been controlled by a two-drug regimen. Each acts through a different mechanism: telmisartan blocks the hormone that narrows blood vessels, amlodipine relaxes vessel walls directly, and hydrochlorothiazide reduces blood volume via the kidneys. Combining all three in one tablet is intended to simplify a regimen that would otherwise need three separate medicines, which can improve how consistently patients actually take their treatment. Precautions

• Considered safe in kidney disease when prescribed appropriately, but requires medical supervision.
• May cause dizziness or drowsiness and reduce alertness – take care while driving or operating machinery.
• Use alcohol with caution – it can add to the blood-pressure-lowering and dizziness effects of this combination.
