Lonopin 40mg Injection is a prescription anticoagulant (blood thinner) from Bharat Serums & Vaccines Ltd. Each 0.4 ml prefilled syringe contains Enoxaparin Sodium IP 40 mg, a low molecular weight heparin. It is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after surgery or during long periods of immobility, to treat existing DVT and pulmonary embolism, and to protect the heart in unstable angina and certain types of heart attack. The ready-to-use prefilled syringe makes accurate dosing simple and helps reduce handling errors, whether it is given in hospital or at home after proper training.

How It Works

Enoxaparin boosts the action of antithrombin, a natural protein in the blood that blocks clotting factors, mainly Factor Xa and to a lesser extent thrombin. By interrupting the clotting cascade, it stops new clots from forming and prevents existing clots from growing larger, while the body gradually breaks them down. Its predictable effect allows fixed doses to be given under the skin, usually without the need for routine blood monitoring.

How to Use

• Use only as prescribed; your doctor will decide the dose and length of treatment.
• Inject deep under the skin of the abdomen, alternating left and right sides; never inject into a muscle.
• Do not expel the air bubble from the prefilled syringe before injecting, and do not rub the site afterwards.
• Dispose of the used syringe safely in a sharps container.

• This is a Schedule H prescription medicine; use only under medical supervision.
• Tell your doctor if you have a bleeding disorder, recent stroke, stomach ulcer, kidney or liver disease, or a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia.
• Inform your doctor before any surgery, spinal or epidural procedure, and about other blood thinners or painkillers such as aspirin or NSAIDs.
• Bruising or pain at the injection site is common. Seek urgent help for unusual bleeding, black stools, blood in urine or severe headache.
• Store below 25°C; do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
