Acivix Cream from Zee Laboratories is Acyclovir Cream IP 5%, a topical antiviral for cold sores (herpes labialis) and genital herpes. It is applied directly to the affected skin, where it blocks the herpes simplex virus from multiplying, shortening the outbreak and easing the pain, itching and burning that come with it. As a topical treatment it acts right at the site of the lesion, making it a practical choice for visible, localised herpes outbreaks. Comes as a 5 gm tube.

Directions for Use

• Consult your doctor if symptoms haven’t improved after 10 days

Precautions

• Avoid contact with the eyes and other mucous membranes; rinse with plenty of water if accidental exposure occurs
• May cause mild, usually temporary burning, irritation, itching or redness at the application site
• Avoid sexual contact while genital sores are present, to reduce the chance of transmission
• Use with caution if you have a weakened immune system or kidney problems
• Consult your doctor before use if pregnant or breastfeeding
