Kojivit Ultra Gel – Kojic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Arbutin and Niacinamide, 30 g

Kojivit Ultra Gel from Micro Labs is a 30 g depigmenting gel combining kojic acid dipalmitate, glycolic acid, arbutin, niacinamide, mulberry extract, licorice extract and tetrahydrocurcumin. The formulation is a deliberate stack rather than a list. Melanin production can be interrupted at several points, and this gel hits most of them: kojic acid dipalmitate, arbutin, mulberry and licorice all inhibit tyrosinase, the rate-limiting enzyme; niacinamide blocks the handover of finished melanin to skin cells; glycolic acid speeds up shedding of the already-pigmented surface layer, which is why results appear faster than with tyrosinase inhibitors alone; and octinoxate provides some UV filtering, since sunlight undoes the whole effort. Kojic acid dipalmitate is the ester form, chosen because plain kojic acid oxidises and browns in the tube. Also contains vitamin E and allantoin.

Uses & Benefits

• Glycolic acid also improves texture and smoothness, not only pigment

• A pea-sized amount is enough, so a 30 g tube lasts

Directions for Use

• Apply daily in the morning and / or at night, as printed on the pack
• Apply a pea-sized amount of gel onto the face – more is not better with acids
• Spread on clean, dry skin, avoiding the eyes, lips and nostrils
• Use broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning – glycolic acid thins the surface layer and makes you more sun-sensitive
• Replace the cap tightly after use and allow 8 to 12 weeks before judging the result

Precautions

• For external use only. Avoid the eyes, lips and mucous membranes
• This contains glycolic acid and will increase sun sensitivity. Without daily sunscreen the pigmentation you are treating will simply return, and can darken
• Patch test first. Stinging, mild redness and dryness are common in the first week; persistent burning, swelling or peeling means stop and see a doctor
• Do not layer it with retinoids, other acids or benzoyl peroxide without dermatological advice
• It contains methylparaben and propylparaben and a perfume – not suitable if you react to either
• Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding unless your doctor approves. Not for use on broken, sunburnt or freshly waxed skin

Storage

• Store at a temperature below 25°C. Do not freeze, as printed on the pack
• Replace the cap tightly after use
• Keep out of reach of children
