Abec-L Tablet – Abacavir 600 mg + Lamivudine 300 mg by Emcure

Abec-L Tablet from Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a fixed-dose combination of Abacavir 600 mg and Lamivudine 300 mg (Abacavir & Lamivudine Tablets IP). Both are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs): they block the enzyme HIV uses to copy itself, so the amount of virus in the blood falls, and CD4 cell counts recover. Combining both actives in one once-daily film-coated tablet makes long-term antiretroviral therapy simpler to follow. Supplied as a bottle of 30 tablets. Schedule H prescription drug.

Key Features

  • Two NRTIs in one once-daily tablet – simpler ART regimen
  • Abacavir 600 mg + Lamivudine 300 mg, Indian Pharmacopoeia grade
  • Film-coated tablet; may be taken with or without food
  • Manufactured by Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd., India

Composition

  • Abacavir (as Abacavir Sulphate IP) – 600 mg
  • Lamivudine IP – 300 mg
