Mosi-D Eye Drop
Mosi-D Eye Drop is a potent, dual-action ophthalmic formulation designed to treat bacterial eye infections accompanied by significant inflammation. It combines two powerful medical agents—Moxifloxacin and Dexamethasone—to provide a comprehensive therapeutic response. In clinical practice, eye infections are often exacerbated by the body’s inflammatory response, which can cause redness, swelling, and discomfort. Mosi-D addresses both the root cause of the infection and the resulting physical distress. It is frequently prescribed for conditions such as bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis, and as a prophylactic measure following ophthalmic surgeries, such as cataract or Lasik procedures, to prevent infection and control post-operative inflammation.
Key Features
- Features Moxifloxacin to eliminate a wide range of infection-causing bacteria.
- Contains Dexamethasone to quickly reduce redness, itching, and swelling of the eye.
- An ideal choice for post-operative care to ensure a sterile and inflammation-free healing process.
- Formulated to penetrate the corneal tissues effectively, ensuring the medication reaches the site of infection.
- Minimizes the need for multiple separate drops by combining an antibiotic and a steroid in one sterile solution.
Key Ingredients
- Moxifloxacin (0.5% w/v)
- Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate (0.1% w/v)
- Benzalkonium Chloride
- Sterile Aqueous Vehicle
Precautions
- This product contains a steroid and should only be used under the strict supervision of an ophthalmologist.
- Steroid-containing drops should not be used in fungal or viral eye infections (like Herpes Simplex), as they can worsen the condition.
- Prolonged use of Dexamethasone can lead to increased intraocular pressure (IOP). Regular check-ups are necessary if used for more than 10 days.
- Do not wear contact lenses while you have an active eye infection. The preservative in the drops can also be absorbed by soft lenses.
- Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any surface to prevent contaminating the remaining solution.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Discard the bottle 30 days after opening to ensure maximum safety and sterility.
How to Use
- The standard dosage for Mosi-D Eye Drop is usually one drop in the affected eye(s) three to four times a day, or as specifically directed by your eye specialist.
- To apply, wash your hands thoroughly, tilt your head back, and pull down the lower eyelid.
- Gently squeeze one drop into the pocket formed by the eyelid. Close your eye for 1-2 minutes and apply light pressure to the corner of the eye (near the nose) to keep the medicine from draining out.
- If you are using other eye medications, wait at least 5-10 minutes between applications.
- Ensure you complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early, to prevent the return of the infection.
