Loceryl Nail Lacquer
Loceryl Nail Lacquer is a high-potency antifungal intervention containing Amorolfine (5% w/v), a specialized morpholine derivative specifically engineered for the clinical management of onychomycosis (fungal nail infections). Utilizing a unique “Trans-Ungual” delivery system, this lacquer works by penetrating the dense keratinized structure of the nail plate to reach the underlying nail bed. By inhibiting the enzymatic activity of delta-14-reductase and delta-7,8-isomerase, Amorolfine effectively disrupts the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of the fungal cell membrane. This targeted biochemical action provides a decisive therapeutic response by causing the depletion of ergosterol and the accumulation of atypical sterols, leading to the destruction of the fungal cells.
Key Features
- Specifically formulated to target a wide range of fungi responsible for distal and lateral subungual onychomycosis.
- Clinically recognized for its ability to maintain therapeutic concentrations within the nail for a full week.
- The lacquer vehicle is specifically engineered to permeate the nail plate and remain effective at the site of infection.
- Acts as a functional shield that does not wash off during regular bathing or swimming once the film has dried.
- Formulated for topical use with negligible systemic absorption, reducing the risk of drug interactions or internal side effects.
Key Ingredients
- Amorolfine (5%)
- Methacrylic Acid Copolymer
- Triacetin
- Butyl Acetate & Ethyl Acetate
- Ethanol (Anhydrous)
Precautions
- Consult with a dermatologist or podiatrist prior to use, especially if more than two nails are affected or if the lunula (half-moon) is involved.
- Do not apply to the skin surrounding the nail, eyes, or mucous membranes. Avoid inhalation of the lacquer vapors.
- Avoid the use of artificial nails or cosmetic nail varnish on the treated nails during the course of treatment.
- Do not reuse the individual nail files on healthy nails to prevent the cross-spreading of the fungal infection.
- Discontinue use immediately if you experience persistent inflammation, pain, or an allergic reaction in the periungual area.
- Use during pregnancy or lactation should only be considered if the clinical benefit outweighs the potential risk.
How to Use
- File down the infected areas of the nail surface as much as possible using one of the provided disposable nail files.
- Clean the nail surface thoroughly with one of the provided medicated cleansing swabs to remove any oils or previous lacquer residue.
- Dip the reusable applicator into the bottle. Apply the lacquer evenly over the entire surface of the affected nail.
- Allow the lacquer to dry completely for approximately 3 to 5 minutes before putting on socks or shoes.
- Typically applied once weekly. Consistency is vital; treatment must continue without interruption until the nail has fully regrown.
- Clean the applicator with the cleansing swab after each use before returning it to the bottle. Close the cap tightly.
