Predmet 1% Eye Drop

Predmet 1% Eye Drop is a potent corticosteroid ophthalmic solution used to treat inflammatory conditions of the eye. It contains Prednisolone Acetate, which works by suppressing the body’s immune response and reducing the release of substances that cause swelling, pain, and redness. This medication is commonly prescribed following ocular surgeries (such as cataract or LASIK) to manage post-operative inflammation and prevent complications. It is also effective for treating non-infectious inflammatory conditions like uveitis, cyclitis, and allergic conjunctivitis. By calming the eye’s natural inflammatory response, Predmet 1% helps protect delicate ocular tissues and restores comfort and clarity of vision.

Key Features

  • Provides rapid relief from redness, itching, and swelling of the eye.
  • A standard treatment to control inflammation and speed up healing after eye surgery.
  • Effectively manages autoimmune-related eye conditions such as uveitis.
  • Formulated as a suspension to ensure the active steroid reaches the target tissues within the eye.
  • Alleviates the discomfort and sensitivity to light associated with severe eye inflammation.

Key Ingredients

  • Prednisolone Acetate (1% w/v)
  • Benzalkonium Chloride
  • Stabilizing Agents

Precautions

  • Always shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to ensure the medication is properly mixed.
  • Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure (IOP). Your doctor should monitor your eye pressure if used for more than 10 days.
  • Intensive or long-term steroid use can lead to the formation of posterior subcapsular cataracts.
  • Steroids can mask or worsen fungal, viral, or bacterial eye infections. Do not use if you have an active eye infection unless directed by a specialist.
  • Remove contact lenses before application. Wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them, as the preservative can discolor soft lenses.
  • Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface (including the eye) to prevent contamination.

How to Use

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before use.
  • Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and instill the prescribed number of drops (usually 1–2 drops, 2 to 4 times daily).
  • Close your eye and apply gentle pressure to the inner corner (near the nose) for 1–2 minutes to prevent the medication from draining away.
  • If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 5–10 minutes between different medications.
  • Use the medication for the full duration prescribed; do not stop abruptly without consulting your doctor, as inflammation may rebound.
