Adiff Gel (Adapalene 0.1% w/w)
Adiff Gel is a targeted dermatological treatment containing 0.1% Adapalene, a powerful retinoid-like compound. It is specifically designed to treat acne by modulating the process of cellular differentiation and keratinization. Adiff works by preventing the formation of microcomedones (the precursors to pimples) and helping to unclog existing pores. Beyond its exfoliating properties, Adapalene possesses significant anti-inflammatory effects, which help reduce the redness and swelling associated with active breakouts. Because it is more chemically stable and lipophilic than earlier retinoids, it penetrates the hair follicles efficiently and is often better tolerated by those with sensitive skin.
Key Features
- Effectively breaks down blackheads and whiteheads by preventing skin cells from sticking together inside the pore.
- Calms the skin’s inflammatory response, helping painful acne lesions heal faster.
- Helps “retrain” the skin to shed cells properly, reducing the frequency of future breakouts.
- Unlike Tretinoin, Adapalene does not break down as easily in light, though it is still recommended for nighttime use.
- Known for causing less peeling and redness compared to first-generation retinoids, making it a favorite for long-term maintenance.
Key Ingredients
- Adapalene (0.1% w/w)
Precautions
- During the first 2–4 weeks, acne may temporarily appear to worsen as deep-seated clogs are pushed to the surface. This is normal.
- Retinoids thin the outer layer of dead skin. Daily use of a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ is essential to prevent sunburn and irritation.
- Do not wax areas of the face where Adiff is applied, as it can lead to skin tearing. Switch to threading or tweezing.
- Topical retinoids are generally not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
- Avoid using other harsh actives like Benzoyl Peroxide or Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) at the same time until your skin has fully adjusted.
How to Use
- Wash your face with a very gentle, soap-free cleanser and pat dry.
- Ensure the skin is completely dry (wait about 10–15 minutes) before applying to minimize the risk of irritation.
- Use a pea-sized amount for the entire face. Dot it on the forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks, then spread it in a thin layer.
- Apply once daily, strictly in the evening before bed.
- Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer after the gel has absorbed to maintain the skin barrier.
Legal Disclaimer: Adiff Gel is a medicated treatment. Full clinical results usually take 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use. If severe burning or swelling occurs, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
