Dorsun BAK Free 2% Eye Drop is a Dorzolamide 2% w/v eye drop from Sunways India Pvt Ltd. BAK Free means it does not contain benzalkonium chloride, a preservative found in many eye drops. Benzalkonium chloride can irritate the eye surface when drops are used for a long time. That makes this drop a kinder choice for long term glaucoma treatment. Dorzolamide works by blocking carbonic anhydrase, an enzyme involved in making eye fluid. Less fluid is produced, so the pressure inside the eye comes down. Lower pressure helps prevent damage to the optic nerve and loss of side vision. It is prescribed for open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Your doctor may use it alone or combine it with other drops. Each pack contains a 5 ml bottle of sterile solution.
