Monosopt 2% Eye Drop
Monosopt 2% Eye Drop is an ophthalmic solution made by Micro Labs Ltd with Dorzolamide 2% w/v as its active ingredient. It is used to manage raised intraocular pressure, which is common in open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The eye keeps producing a clear fluid called aqueous humour. When this fluid builds up faster than it drains, pressure inside the eye rises. Dorzolamide slows down an enzyme that the eye needs to make this fluid. With less fluid being produced, the pressure gradually comes down. Keeping pressure in a safe range protects the optic nerve from slow damage. Eye doctors may prescribe it on its own or along with a beta blocker drop. Glaucoma care is usually long term, so steady daily use matters. The pack holds a 5 ml bottle of sterile solution.
