Pixaflo 5 Tablet is a Lupin product containing apixaban 5mg. It is an oral blood thinner that lowers the risk of clots forming inside blood vessels. Apixaban blocks Factor Xa directly, which interrupts the chain of steps that builds a clot. It is prescribed for adults with atrial fibrillation to help prevent stroke. Doctors also use it to treat clots in the deep leg veins and in the lungs. It may be continued for a period to keep those clots from coming back. It can also protect patients after hip or knee replacement surgery. Routine INR blood tests are not needed while using it. Each strip contains 10 film-coated tablets. Steady twice-daily dosing keeps its protective effect even.
