CTD-T 12.5/40 Tablet is a prescription blood pressure medicine from Ipca Laboratories that combines two proven antihypertensives in one tablet. Each uncoated tablet contains Telmisartan IP 40 mg and Chlorthalidone IP 12.5 mg. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) when a single medicine is not enough to bring readings under control. Keeping blood pressure in a healthy range reduces strain on the heart, blood vessels and kidneys and lowers the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney damage. Each strip contains 15 tablets.

How It Works

Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It stops the hormone angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen so blood flows more easily. Chlorthalidone is a long-acting thiazide-like diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body, reducing the volume of fluid in the blood vessels. Working together through these two different mechanisms, the combination lowers blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone.

How to Use

• Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day.
