How It Works

Diltiazem belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It blocks the entry of calcium into the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessel walls. This relaxes and widens the blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow to the heart muscle.
