Sumo Cold Pcf Drop
Sumo Cold Pcf Drop is a multi-symptom cold and fever oral suspension manufactured and marketed by Alkem Laboratories Ltd, formulated specially for young children who need relief from a runny nose, blocked nose, headache, sore throat, body ache and fever all at once. Each ml contains Paracetamol IP 125mg, Chlorpheniramine Maleate IP 1mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride IP 2.5mg in a flavoured syrupy base coloured with Sunset Yellow FCF. Paracetamol works as an analgesic and antipyretic by blocking the chemical messengers in the brain responsible for pain and raised body temperature, Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antihistamine that dries up a runny nose and reduces sneezing and watery eyes caused by allergy or cold, and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a decongestant that narrows swollen blood vessels in the nasal passage to relieve a blocked or stuffy nose. Together, this combination gives Sumo Cold Pcf Drop a fast, well-rounded action against the most common cold symptoms in infants and young children. The drops are given orally using the marked dropper provided, and the bottle should be shaken well before each use so the medicine stays evenly mixed. Sumo Cold Pcf Drop can be given with or without food, though giving it after a feed may help reduce the small chance of stomach upset in sensitive children. This is a Schedule G medicine, meaning it should never be given except under medical supervision, and the dose should always follow the paediatrician’s instructions and the age-wise dosage chart printed on the pack. Sumo Cold Pcf Drop is not meant for children below 4 years of age unless specifically advised by a doctor. Giving more than the recommended dose, or combining it with other paracetamol-containing medicines, can lead to serious liver damage or allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, mouth or throat and difficulty in breathing, so the ingredients of any other cold or fever medicine should always be checked before use alongside this suspension.
