Aciclovir 400mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat infections caused by the herpes simplex and varicella-zoster viruses. It works by stopping the virus from multiplying inside the body, which helps control the infection, relieve symptoms such as pain and itching, and speed up healing of sores and blisters.

Active Ingredients

Each tablet contains Acyclovir 400mg, a synthetic nucleoside analogue that inhibits viral DNA synthesis and replication.

How to Use / Directions

Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water — do not chew, crush or break it. It may be taken with or without food, ideally at a fixed time each day. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if the next dose is nearly due; do not double up. Do not stop the course early even if symptoms improve — finish the full duration as prescribed.

Precautions

• Drink plenty of water during treatment to help prevent dehydration and protect kidney function.
• Use with caution if you have kidney disease; dose adjustment may be needed.

Side Effects
