Ocuvir 200 DT Tablet – Aciclovir Dispersible Tablets IP by FDC

Ocuvir 200 DT from FDC is Aciclovir Dispersible Tablets IP 200 mg, an antiviral medicine for herpes simplex, genital herpes, herpes labialis (cold sores), shingles and chickenpox. It works by blocking the virus from multiplying inside human cells, which stops the infection from spreading further and lets the body’s own defences clear it. Being a dispersible tablet, it is dissolved in water before taking, which can make dosing easier for people who find whole tablets hard to swallow. Strip of 10 tablets.

Directions for Use

• Disperse the tablet in a tablespoonful (15 ml) of boiled and cooled water immediately before taking

• Take at a fixed time each day; if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for the next one – do not double up
• Finish the full course even if you feel better; stopping early can let the infection return
• Drink plenty of water throughout treatment to help protect the kidneys

Precautions

• Use with caution if you have kidney problems, dehydration, or a weakened immune system
• Contraindicated in anyone allergic to aciclovir or similar antivirals

• Consult your doctor if pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding
• Use barrier contraception and avoid sexual contact with genital herpes while sores are present, to reduce transmission risk
