Finastox 1 from Zeelab Pharmacy contains Finasteride IP 1 mg in a film-coated tablet for male pattern hair loss. Baldness of this kind is not really about hair – it is about a hormone. Testosterone is converted by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase into DHT, a far more potent androgen that binds to follicles on the crown and hairline and shrinks them a little with every growth cycle, until the hair they produce is too fine to see. Finasteride blocks that enzyme, cutting scalp DHT sharply. The shrinking stops, and many follicles recover. Strip of 10 tablets. For use by men only. Schedule H prescription medicine.

Directions for Use

• Take one tablet daily, exactly as prescribed – usually at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; may be taken with or without food

• Some shedding in the first weeks is normal as weaker hairs are replaced

Precautions

• For use by men only. Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle crushed or broken tablets – finasteride can harm the development of a male foetus. The film coating protects against contact with an intact tablet
• Sexual side effects can occur – reduced libido, erectile difficulty or ejaculation problems. They are uncommon and usually reverse on stopping, but tell your doctor if they persist

• Tell your doctor about liver disease before starting
