Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop – Double-Strength Carboxymethylcellulose, 10 ml

Lacrivisc DS is the double-strength version of the standard lubricant drop, containing Carboxymethylcellulose 1% w/v – twice the concentration of the usual 0.5% preparations. The higher concentration makes the drop more viscous, so it stays on the eye surface longer and needs instilling less often. That suits moderate to severe dry eye, where 0.5% drops wear off too quickly to give real relief, though the trade-off is slightly more transient blurring after each drop. Marketed by Samarth Life Sciences. 10 ml bottle.

Key Features

  • Carboxymethylcellulose 1% w/v – double the usual strength
  • More viscous, so it stays on the eye surface longer
  • Suits moderate to severe dry eye needing longer-lasting relief
  • Fewer instillations needed through the day
  • 10 ml bottle, marketed by Samarth Life Sciences Pvt Ltd.

Composition

  • Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium – 1% w/v (double strength)

Refer to the pack label for the complete list of excipients.

Uses & Benefits

  • Treatment of moderate to severe dry eyes
  • Longer-lasting lubrication than standard 0.5% drops
  • Temporary relief from burning and discomfort of dry eye
  • Useful where standard drops wear off too quickly
  • Soothes irritation from prolonged screen use and air conditioning
  • Supports comfort through the working day with fewer applications

Directions for Use

  • Wash your hands before use
  • Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket
  • Instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed, or as your doctor advises
  • Do not let the dropper tip touch the eye or any surface – this contaminates the bottle
  • If using other eye medicines, wait 5–10 minutes between them so neither is washed out

Precautions

  • Discard the bottle 30 days after opening – preservative protection does not last indefinitely once the seal is broken
  • Not for use with soft contact lenses – remove lenses first and wait 15 minutes before reinserting
  • Vision may blur briefly after instilling – do not drive or use machinery until it clears
  • Do not use if the seal is broken before you open it
  • Stop and see a doctor if you develop eye pain, redness, swelling, discharge or worsening vision – these suggest infection, not dryness
  • Persistent dry eye deserves investigation – it can accompany thyroid disease, Sjogren’s syndrome or medication side effects

Storage

  • Store below 25°C
  • Replace the cap tightly after each use; keep away from direct sunlight
  • Keep out of reach of children
