NovoMix 30 Penfill 100 IU/ml
NovoMix 30 Penfill is a premixed biphasic insulin aspart suspension from Novo Nordisk, supplied as a 3 ml cartridge containing 100 units per ml. Each cartridge combines two forms of the same modern analogue insulin: 30% fast-acting soluble insulin aspart to cover the rise in blood glucose that follows a meal, and 70% protamine-crystallised insulin aspart that is released slowly to provide steady background cover between meals. This single-cartridge combination lets adults and children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus manage both mealtime and basal insulin needs with fewer daily injections. The Penfill cartridge is designed for use with Novo Nordisk reusable insulin delivery devices such as NovoPen, together with NovoFine needles.

How to Use
- Use only as directed by your doctor. Dose is individual and is set by your treating physician.
- Roll and tip the cartridge gently until the suspension looks uniformly white and cloudy before every injection. Never inject it if it stays clumped or clear.
- Load the cartridge into a compatible Novo Nordisk pen and attach a fresh NovoFine needle for each dose.
- Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, upper arm or buttock, rotating the site each time to avoid lipodystrophy.
- Give the dose immediately before a meal, and eat within a few minutes of injecting.
- A Penfill cartridge is for one person only – never share cartridges, pens or needles.
