Pilocar 2% Eye Drop

Pilocar 2% Eye Drop is a 5 ml sterile ophthalmic solution from FDC Ltd that carries pilocarpine nitrate 2% w/v. Pilocarpine belongs to a group of eye medicines called miotics, and it has been a mainstay of glaucoma care for decades. It works on the muscles inside the eye, making the pupil smaller and pulling open the drainage angle. With that angle opened up, the watery fluid inside the eye can leave more freely. The result is a drop in intraocular pressure, which is the pressure that damages the optic nerve in glaucoma. Eye doctors also reach for it to reverse a dilated pupil after an examination or a procedure. The drops begin acting within minutes and the pressure-lowering effect holds for several hours. A small dropper bottle of 5 ml is supplied sealed, with the tip protected until first use. Dim vision or a brow ache in the first few days is common and usually settles as the eye adjusts. How to Use

• Wash hands, tilt the head back and pull the lower lid down
