Salactin Salicylic & Lactic Acid Paint
Salactin Salicylic & Lactic Acid Paint is a potent dermatological solution specifically formulated for the effective removal of warts, corns, and calluses. This specialized “paint” utilizes a dual-action keratolytic approach to break down the hardened skin structures that characterize these common dermatological issues. Warts, often caused by viral infections, and corns or calluses, resulting from chronic pressure or friction, can be both painful and aesthetically bothersome. Salactin provides a targeted, non-invasive treatment that gradually dissolves the thickened layers of the skin, allowing for the gentle removal of the affected tissue without the immediate need for surgical intervention or cryotherapy.
Key Features
- Combines two powerful acids to accelerate the breakdown of hardened skin proteins.
- The liquid paint format and included applicator allow for precise treatment of small or large lesions.
- Dries quickly to create a protective, occlusive layer that locks in the active medication.
- A versatile treatment suitable for common warts, plantar warts (verrucas), corns, and stubborn calluses.
- Offers a painless alternative to freezing or cutting for mild to moderate skin growths.
Key Ingredients
- Salicylic Acid (16.7% w/v)
- Lactic Acid (16.7% w/v)
- Flexible Collodion Base
- Ether and Alcohol
Precautions
- This product is highly corrosive to normal skin; avoid contact with healthy skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
- The solution contains ether and alcohol; keep the bottle away from open flames, sparks, or lit cigarettes.
- Do not use on the face, neck, anal or genital areas, or on birthmarks and hairy warts.
- Patients with diabetes or poor peripheral blood circulation should consult a doctor before use, as skin healing may be compromised.
- Always close the cap tightly immediately after use to prevent the solution from evaporating and hardening in the bottle.
- It is recommended to apply a small amount of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) around the lesion to protect the surrounding healthy skin.
How to Use
- Soak the affected area in warm water for about 5 minutes to soften the skin, then dry it thoroughly with a clean towel.
- Gently rub the surface of the wart or corn with a pumice stone or emery board to remove any loose, dead skin.
- Using the applicator provided, apply a thin layer of Salactin Paint directly onto the lesion, taking care to avoid the surrounding healthy skin.
- Allow the paint to dry completely to form a white film. Repeat this process once daily, usually before bedtime. After a few days, the treated skin will begin to turn white and can be gently peeled away.
- Continue treatment until the wart or corn is completely removed, which may take up to 6–12 weeks for stubborn cases.
