Scaboma Lotion
Scaboma Lotion is a potent medicated treatment used for the eradication of scabies and body lice. It contains Lindane, an organochloride insecticide that works by being absorbed through the exoskeleton of parasites, causing excessive stimulation of their nervous system, convulsions, and eventual death. Precautions
- This medication should only be used if other safer treatments (like Permethrin) have failed or are contraindicated.
- Lindane can be absorbed through the skin and may cause seizures. It must be used with extreme caution in children, the elderly, and those weighing less than 50kg.
- Do not apply to skin that is raw, weeping, or has open sores, as this significantly increases the risk of toxic absorption.
- Do not use if you have a known seizure disorder or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mouth. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with large amounts of water.
How to Use
- Ensure the skin is clean and completely dry. Wait at least 1 hour after bathing before application to reduce the risk of excessive absorption.
- Apply a thin layer of Scaboma Lotion from the neck down to the toes, covering the entire body surface.
- Leave the lotion on for 8 to 12 hours (usually overnight). Do not leave it on for more than 12 hours.
- Wash the lotion off thoroughly with lukewarm water. Do not use hot water.
