Actilis contains Tadalafil USP 20 mg in a film-coated tablet for oral use, supplied by Actiza in a sealed bottle of 100 tablets. Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction: it blocks the enzyme that clears cGMP from the smooth muscle of the penile blood vessels, so when arousal occurs those vessels stay relaxed and fill more fully. What sets tadalafil apart from sildenafil is how long it lasts – a single dose stays active for up to 36 hours, which is why it is often called the weekend tablet. That long window removes the need to time a dose to the hour, and intimacy can stay spontaneous. Absorption is also unaffected by food, so a meal beforehand makes no difference.

Directions for Use

Precautions

• Never combine with nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) or riociguat – the resulting fall in blood pressure can be fatal
• Take care with alpha-blockers prescribed for blood pressure or an enlarged prostate; your doctor may need to adjust the dose
• Tell your doctor about heart disease, recent heart attack or stroke, low or uncontrolled high blood pressure, liver or kidney impairment, or retinal disorders
• Not for women, for anyone under 18, or for men advised against sexual activity
• Common effects include headache, indigestion, back pain and muscle ache (more typical of tadalafil than of other PDE5 inhibitors), flushing and a blocked nose
• Seek emergency care for an erection lasting over 4 hours, chest pain during sex, or sudden loss of vision or hearing
