Tafnat Tablet from Natco Pharma contains Tenofovir Alafenamide (TAF) 25 mg for chronic hepatitis B virus infection. TAF is a prodrug refinement of older tenofovir: it delivers the active drug more efficiently into liver cells, so an effective dose is achieved at roughly a tenth of the older tenofovir disoproxil dose. That matters clinically, because the lower circulating levels mean less strain on the kidneys and bone density – the two long-standing drawbacks of tenofovir therapy.
